Vanheede Environment Group is one of the top waste processing companies in the Benelux and northern France. For more than 50 years, our mission has been to give waste a second life, as a raw material and as energy. We do this together with our nearly 900 employees spread over 15 sites in Belgium and France. Besides a very diverse range of waste collection services, we are also highly specialised in innovative recycling methods. Every year, we process some 1,122,000 tonnes of waste and succeed in giving 98.51% of it a new and useful application. As an integrated environmental company, Vanheede Environment Group manages 2481 waste streams with the vision "Towards a circular world, in a sustainable way". Vanheede Environment Group has a consolidated turnover of 199 million euros.
Strengthened by our past and focused on our future, we are fully committed to growth and innovation.
We also contribute to a circular world!
At our Rumbeke site, there are two sorting lines (PRF and MRF). These installations form the heart of our activities within the Recovery Facilities business unit, where we recover valuable materials from waste streams using innovative techniques, contributing to the circular economy. Here, recyclable and recoverable materials are separated and then pressed into bales. The PRF line focuses on sorting PMD waste, while the MRF line mainly sorts business residual waste and other residue streams.
We are looking for an additional mechanic to join our team!
Together with the team, you will be responsible for the (preventive) maintenance of:
The PRF and MRF sorting lines (75%):
You regularly inspect the sorting installations and carry out repairs when needed.
To do this, you first prepare various mechanical components in the workshop: cutting, lubrication, welding constructions, etc.
You participate in preventive maintenance (lubricating bearings, replacing wear parts, support rollers, …).
Every Wednesday and Saturday morning, we temporarily stop the PRF line for full preventive maintenance. You are expected to be available on Saturday mornings roughly one out of every two weeks.
Together with the maintenance team (internal and external), you ensure optimal operation of these sorting lines.
Interventions in case of breakdowns are also part of your responsibilities.
Technical infrastructure (25%):
At our Rumbeke site, you carry out various repairs and installations, for example: barriers, fences, gates, racks, forklifts, …
You enjoy analysing and solving problems and make it a point of honour to reduce or prevent technical/mechanical failures.
You are interested in the world of recycling and renewable energy and want to work for a Belgian key player in this sector.
Having initial experience as a maintenance mechanic is an advantage.
Experience with welding and hydraulics is a plus, but not mandatory.
You are looking for daytime work, but have a flexible attitude.
In principle, you will work 1 in 2 weeks on Saturday mornings and you will be available in case of serious technical problems.
You are Dutch-speaking, French-speaking or English-speaking.
Do you dream of working in a family-run company with the passion and ambition of a global player ?
We take our mission very seriously. Together, we look for sustainable solutions for waste.
You will find yourself in a financially healthy company bursting with enthusiastic colleagues where independence and personal growth are strongly encouraged.
A nice salary package is the icing on the cake. You get the great colleagues for free.
And because healthy and happy employees make a healthy company, we also like to take part in fun sports activities and do regular team building.
We like to invest in our people and offer various training opportunities. We don't fill positions, we fill careers.
If you overwhelm us with your talent, you will grow !Interested?
